EJC participants got acquainted with the basics of legislation and professional ethics

The next module of the Economic Journalism Club project which IBC carries out with the support from the U.S. Embassy, was devoted to the basics of legislation and journalistic ethics.

Nurgul Abdukerimova, an expert at the Media Development Center Public Foundation, spoke about the importance of fact checking in the media.

Altynay Isayeva, a lawyer of the Media Policy Institute Public Foundation, told the project participants how the laws of Kyrgyzstan protect information about the subjects of the economy.

"Standards of journalistic materials: opinion and facts, truth and assumptions" – it was the theme of the presentation of Eldiyar Arykbayev, editor-in-chief of Kloop Media.

Altynay Isayeva, a lawyer of the Media Policy Institute, and Nurbek Sabirov, a partner of the Kalikova and Associates law firm, spoke about the need to observe commercial and bank secrecy, and journalists' responsibility for the published materials.

Dmitry Denisenko, Economist observer, shared his experience of how to write interesting articles on economic topics.
