IBC Committee discusses initiatives in subsoil use

On February 7, the IBC Mineral Resources Committee discussed initiatives announced on January 30 at the Security Council meeting on measures to ensure safety in the subsoil use of the country.

Opening the meeting, IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov and MRC Chair Aicholpon Jorupbekova gave a brief overview of the results of the past period.

The meeting participants expressed their opinion regarding the tax increase in the mining industry, the separation of sampling functions and laboratory research within the procedure for importing and exporting ores and concentrates of precious metals, inventory of licenses issued for deposits, and other issues.

Following the discussions, a Committee’s action plan was developed.

The fact that the country's top leadership pays special attention to the mining industry shows a lot, stressed representatives of the largest mining companies.

But at the same time, it is necessary to provide the decision-makers with the objective and unbiased information on the issues considered at the Security Council meeting.
