IWG discusses preparations for the Green Economy Week in Kyrgyzstan

On June 12, the Interdepartmental Working Group at the Economy Ministry discussed an action plan for preparing for the Green Economy Week in Kyrgyzstan scheduled for November 11-15, 2019.

The event will be held by the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the UN Agencies Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) Initiative and with the participation of business associations on the civil sector.

A representative of the International Business Council is a member of the working group.

The Kyrgyz Republic is actively engaged in the transition to a green economy, which allows for more efficient use of resources and widespread use of environmentally friendly technologies and innovations.

Considering the importance of the participation of all stakeholders in ensuring sustainable development through the promotion of a green economy, the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic initiated the organization and holding of the Green Economy Week - 2018, which was held October 15-20, 2018.

Within the Green Economy Week, events aimed at promoting green economy issues were held in Bishkek and Osh, including exhibitions of green technologies, seminars and roundtables.

In conclusion, the Forum “Progress and Prospects for the Development of a Green Economy in the Kyrgyz Republic” was held.
