Bishkek Prosecutor's Office discusses protection of entrepreneurs’ rights and freedoms

On February 26, 2020, Bishkek’s Prosecutor’s Office hosted a meeting with representatives of business associations, the Ministry of Economy and the Business Ombudsman Institution of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting participants discussed the main problems that entrepreneurs face and expressed their willingness to interact. Employees of the Bishkek Prosecutor’s Office provided detailed explanations of issues raised by entrepreneurs.

Sanjar Toktomambetov, Head of the Legal Department of the International Business Council, informed about business problems related to unreasonable tax audits by state authorities.

It is necessary to reduce administrative pressure on business from law enforcement and regulatory authorities and to comply with the law when conducting inspections, representatives of business associations said.

The meeting also examined issues in the construction sectorincluding violations in the development of a detailed city plan.

The meeting discussed how to improve the work of authorized departments aimed at improving the legal protection of entrepreneurs, ensure freedom of competition, and ultimately create a favorable investment climate in the country.

The participants exchanged views on the need to further strengthen the interaction of government bodies, the business community and prosecution authorities in order to eliminate pressure on the business, timely response to all facts of violation of legislation on business protection and reduce legal barriers.
