Applications of business projects for sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan’s regions selected

The Council on creation of a list of priority investment projects under the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic continues to work.

On March 11, 2020, the Council members approved the applications of business projects for the development of a feasibility study (business plan) with technical support from the UNDP project “Strengthening the potential for financing sustainable development in the CIS region”.

Applications for business projects were from the Batken and Jalal-Abad regions and cover such areas of activity as:

- Production of burnt bricks;

- Processing of agricultural products, production of concentrate for compotes and compote itself;

- Processing, sorting and deep processing of walnuts with its export to other countries.

The meeting participants decided to add an additional clause to the criteria for selecting business project applications, which envisages compliance with the Kyrgyz environmental standards.
