IBC announces its anti-crisis proposals at the Business Kenesh online meeting

On April 14, 2020, IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov took part in an online meeting of the Business and Entrepreneurship Development Council under the Parliament Speaker of Kyrgyzstan.

When discussing current issues of business and entrepreneurs in a state of emergency, the IBC voiced the following issues:

- Assistance in the import of necessary components for domestic production companies, as well as in the export of their products;

- Unimpeded movement of goods, equipment and workers of enterprises, subject to the standards of epidemiological safety, within the country;

- Taking unprecedented measures to encourage new investments, especially in the mining industry including rare-earth metal projects.

Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh Abdyvakhap Nurbaev (Council Deputy Chairman), Altynbek Sulaymanov and Iskhak Pirmatov, who participated in the discussions, expressed their readiness to consider and initiate the necessary bills.

IBC is ready to actively cooperate with MPs, sending them recent developments, in particular, on judicial reform.

Business Kenesh plans to hold such online meetings on a weekly basis to discuss current business problems and jointly find ways to quickly resolve them.

About Business Kenesh

The Business and Entrepreneurship Development Council under the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament Speaker) of the Kyrgyz Republic was established in February 2017.

The Council was formed in order to strengthen the connection of the Parliament with the business community and ensure dialogue between them.

The main task of the Council is to consolidate the potential of the business environment in the country, increase investment attractiveness, and promote entrepreneurship in Kyrgyzstan. The Council is a platform for the development of proposals and recommendations to the legislation governing entrepreneurial activity, monitoring and analysis of regulatory legal acts in the field of entrepreneurship.

The Council consists of Parliament deputies, representatives of the business community from various sectors of the economy.

The IBC Executive Director is a Council member.
