The International Business Council (IBC) calls on all government bodies of Kyrgyzstan to ensure the protection of private property, especially large companies of the country.

IBC is concerned about media reports that several large enterprises were seized by unknown persons.

The media reported about attacks on companies developing Jerooy, Ishtamberdy, Jamgyr, Tereksay, and others gold deposits. Work has been suspended for safety reasons at the Bozymchak gold field.

We have information about attempts to seize Alfa Telecom (MegaCom trademark), the Bishkek office of Kumtor Gold Company, and others.

The suspension of these enterprises threatens to disrupt the plans and serious economic consequences.

We call for the restoration of legality in these industries, as well as to ensure the safety of property and uninterrupted work at other large enterprises in the country.

The budget of Kyrgyzstan can lose huge amounts of income, and the country's investment image will deteriorate sharply. This is especially dangerous in the current economic crisis caused by the pandemic.

We call on law enforcement agencies and local authorities to guarantee the safe and continuous operation of industrial enterprises. Compliance with the rule of law in the economy will help ensure the post-crisis development of Kyrgyzstan.

IBC, together with other business associations and people's guards, is making every effort in this direction. We believe that it is necessary to unite all parties to return Kyrgyzstan to the legal field, in accordance with the current Constitution and laws. First of all, government agencies must ensure the smooth operation of law enforcement agencies.

Companies that are faced with the facts of illegal seizure and violation of property rights can, in parallel with appeals to other organizations, contact IBC directly via the Telegram: https://t.me/joinchat/D-lMzE4Yg-Swk4xMIdbj2A
