Business Kenesh considers the main directions of its development

On November 26, the Business and Entrepreneurship Development Council under the Parliament Speaker of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed the main directions for the Council’s development and changes in its composition.

Ruslan Myrzalimov, Manager of the General Information Support to Jogorku Kenesh Program (FCDO), reported on the goals and objectives of the program aimed at developing economic zones, providing technical assistance in drafting a strategy for the Economic Zones Development Strategy (economic zones includes any type of zones: special economic zones, industrial zones, hybrid zones, etc.).

A properly constructed economic zones Strategy is capable to attract foreign investment and new technologies that would catalyze regional development. The Strategy will be developed for five years (2021-2025) and will define new goals, objectives, directions, an action plan for the economic zones development. In addition, it is required to develop a draft law that will create an opportunity for the implementation of the Strategy.

Business Kenesh also considered the current state of the Kambarata HPP-1 project and the ways of its implementation.

Altynbek Ismailov, Chairman of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, spoke about the prospects for digitalization in business development.

The issues of the development of organic agriculture and the possibility of increasing the export potential, as well as the development of e-commerce and the modernization of Kyrgyz Post Office were also considered.
