IWG will study the interaction of business with law enforcement and judicial authorities

The IWG on monitoring the judicial and legal reform discussed interaction between business and law enforcement and judicial authorities on December 3, 2020.

The representative of the International Business Council is a member of the IWG, created by the decision of the Economic Reforms Council under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Justice Manas Sarymsakov.

Judge of the Supreme Court Keneshbek Toktomambetov, prosecutor of the Department for supervision over the observance of the rights of entrepreneurs and protection of investors of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aidin Degenbaev, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Committee for National Security, the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes, Financial intelligence, and Investment Promotion and Protection Agency took part in the discussions.

The expert and business community was represented by members of the expert group on the analysis of the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code, independent legal experts, members of the Judicial Reforms Council, and representatives of a number of business associations.

As a result of the discussions, the IWG members decided to assess the quality of the analysis of the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code to protect the interests of entrepreneurs from illegal interference by law enforcement agencies. They also considered proposals for developing a mechanism for effectively building relations between law enforcement (controlling) and judicial authorities and business.

The IWG members from law enforcement agencies will develop proposals for providing targeted assistance to entrepreneurs.

The Ministry of Justice will summarize all proposals and submit them for discussion at the next IWG meeting.
