Amendments were introduced into the Tax Code with regard to excise tax increase

On March 3 and 10, 2015 the President of the Kyrgyz Republic signed the Law No. 47 “On Amendments to the Tax Code of the Kyrgyz Republic” and the Law No. 52 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic”.

The laws stipulate increase of basic excise tax rates for alcoholic, oil and tobacco products.

According to the President’s official website, the purpose of the laws is to harmonize rates of certain taxes with the respective tax rates in other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
