State Property Management Fund announces the best SOE heads

The Public Supervisory Board of the State Property Management Fund under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (SPMF) has announced the best and worst managers of state-owned enterprises for 2016.

The rating took into account such categories as profitability of companies, assets, and increase of profitability. The ceremony of awarding took place last week. Chairman of the Manas International Airport OJSC Emil Chukuev, General Director of Alfa Telecom CJSC (TM MegaCom) Azat Bazarkulov, and Board Chairman of the National Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev were among the top three executives in terms of profitability of the company's assets for 2016.

The State Insurance Organization headed by Bakyt Jumashev was the worst enterprise in this rating with profitability of state savings bond assets -44%.

There are 1,130 state-owned enterprises in Kyrgyzstan, of which only 166 SOEs are operating, and six enterprises provide 98% of the total profit, the Government's report for 2016 says.
