On May 20-21, a trade mission of Kazakhstan producers visited Bishkek to establish direct contacts, enhance trade relations between enterprises of the two countries and potential buyers, as well as to hold B2B meetings.

The organizers of the trade mission from the Kazakh side were the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic were organizers from the Kyrgyz side.

The Kazakhstan’s business delegation included representatives of 18 major Kazakhstani companies interested in cooperating with Kyrgyzstan in the construction, engineering, oil and gas, energy, mining and metallurgical, pharmaceutical, and food and clothing industries.

On May 20, a business forum was held at the Orion Hotel. Free movement of goods and services is the best way for business cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, said President of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Danil Ibraev. Entrepreneurs of the two countries discuss emerging issues, existing barriers, including trade, within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, Ibraev said.

Negotiations on cooperation between entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan were held.

Following the forum, cooperation agreements were signed between the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

Last year, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan set the task of increasing the volume of trade between the two countries to 1 billion US dollars.

According to the Kyrgyz CCI, the trade between the two countries has exceeded 700 million US dollars.

The forum was held in the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Kyrgyz CCI and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan. Since 2015, five Kyrgyz-Kazakh business forums have been held in Kyrgyzstan, at which businesspeople of the two countries signed contracts worth over $15 million.
