Prime Minister visits Eti Bakir Tereksay

On September 12, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov visited the Eti Bakyr Tereksay mining enterprise (IBC member), which develops the Terek, Terekkan and Perevalnoe deposits.

Eti Bakir Tereksay employs 702 people, of whom 96% are local residents. Each year, the enterprise pays about 1 billion soms to the budget in the form of tax deductions. reported by the Government’s Press Office.

The capacity of the enterprise allows processing one million tons of ore per year. The company is now building a gold recovery plant and conducting preparatory work for the construction of a tailing dump. When the factory starts working, alloys of gold and silver will be produced here.

The mined ore contains arsenic. The Government will take strict control over compliance with all environmental requirements in the implementation of investment projects, Boronov said.

“We set a tough requirement for investors to protect the environment and ecology. It is also necessary to strengthen building an open and direct dialogue with the local population, which should know that the enterprise complies with all technical and environmental requirements. This will allow us to rationally use our natural resources for the benefit of the economy and the population,” Boronov daid.

Eti Bakyr Tereksay LLC is a joint venture. 25% of the capital belongs to Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and 75% -- to the Eti Bakir Turkish company. The Tereksay field is located in the Tereksay village of the Chatkal district of the Jalal-Abad obkast.
