IBC and the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Association of Legal Entities “International Business Council” and the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan signed a Cooperation Agreement aimed at developing social partnership and constructive engagement between representatives of employees and the business community.

The document was signed by Askar Sydykov, Executive Director of IBC, and Muradil Jumadil uulu, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan.The Agreement provides for cooperation in the following areas:

  • improvement of legislation in the field of labor and employment;
  • protection of labor rights and promotion of responsible business conduct;
  • improvement of job quality and reduction of informal employment;
  • development of professional standards and the qualifications system;
  • improvement of occupational health and safety;
  • adaptation of labor relations to digitalization, automation, and new forms of employment;
  • development of collective bargaining regulation and equal opportunities;
  • conducting joint labor market research and preparing proposals for government authorities.

As part of the practical implementation of the Agreement, the parties will develop a joint action plan, may establish expert and advisory groups, conduct research, and prepare recommendations for employers, employees, and government authorities.IBC views cooperation with the Federation of Trade Unions as an important step toward building a balanced system of social partnership. Taking into account the interests of both employees and employers will help improve the regulation of labor relations, prevent labor disputes, and create conditions for Kyrgyzstan’s sustainable economic development.
