Business Forum “Osh - 2015” to be held in the Southern Capital

On 27 May 2015 a Business Forum “Osh – 2015” will be held in Osh at the initiative of Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh province and support of the Investment Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. The primary goal of the Business Forum is to attract investments and contribute to building business contacts and increasing business activities in the regions, in particular in the southern provinces of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Over 200 participants – representatives of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and local state administrations, entrepreneurs, business associations and experts – will take part in the Forum. As the Forum focuses on attracting foreign investment, businessmen have been invited from Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, China, South Korea, Japan and other countries.

To familiarize participants and guests with investment potential of the southern region the Organizing Committee has prepared and will present business projects and materials on investment climate during the Forum. In addition, participants of the Forum will be divided into groups for discussion of business projects by four industries:

- Agriculture and Food/Processing Industry.

- Mining and Stone Processing Industry.

- Construction and Investments.

- Tourism and Infrastructure.

During the Forum representatives of one of the fastest growing business unions – Association of Young Entrepreneurs JIA (Жаш ишкерлер ассоциациясы) – will share successful models of promoting business and attracting investments as the advancing potential of businessmen, cooperation and acquiring updated knowledge about new ways of building and growing business plays important role in promotion of entrepreneurship.

Programme of the activity also consists of thematic presentations, negotiations, consultations, exhibition of goods produced in Osh province and a press-conference summarizing the Business Forum outcomes.

The Business Forum is organized with support of the UNDP Aid for Trade Project, the Programme “Promotion of sustainable economic development” of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, OSCE Osh Field Office and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
