Kyrgyzstan to become a full EEU member from August 12

From August 12, 2015, The Kyrgyz Republic will become a full member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), said Prime Minister Temir Sariyev. According to him, the Eurasian Economic Commission will officially register the Kyrgyz Republic as an EEU member this day.

The state borders of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan will be opened on August 12 in the presence of the presidents of both countries, Almazbek Atambayev and Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Kyrgyz Government Information Management Office said.

According to Temir Sariyev, this event is a significant result of the integration process that began in 2011. Joining the EEU will open up new perspectives for the Kyrgyz economy.

"From this day Kyrgyzstan will be able, together with other EEU member countries. freely move its goods, services, capital and labor. This will open new possibilities for citizens, businessmen and labor migrants working abroad, providing them with some exemptions. State authorities have made every effort to protect the interests of the country during the work on Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the EEU," - said Sariyev.

Earlier this year, the relevant government authorities conducted the necessary preparatory work for the opening of borders. The Prime Minister also instructed to inform the population about new conditions and privileges within the EEU.
