IBC participates in NBT TV channel discussions

IBC Executive Director Temirbek Azhykulov participated in the NBT TV live discussions on the theme: "100 days in the Eurasian Economic Union."

Deputy Economy Minister Kylychbek Jakypov and Iskender Sharsheyev from the Association of Foreign Investors also took part in the debates.

Since Kyrgyzstan has become a full member of the EEU, the country has four market freedoms - free circulation of capital, goods, labor and services. Kyrgyzstan can now enter the EEU market with 170 million people.

However, the country cannot use these advantages fully, said Azhykulov. To compete with the EEU partners, Kyrgyzstan should rebuild its economy from re-exporting to the real production, which is impossible to do in a short time.

Farmers cannot export their products because of the small-scale production, while EEU market networks require products in bulk, of a certain quality and regular supply. Therefore, it is necessary to create logistics centers, and unite small farms into cooperatives. Speaking about the prospects of the tourism industry, Azhykulov stressed the need to introduce an open sky policy in the country.
