Feasibility study on the construction of a gold recovery plant in Kyrgyzstan will start in May
In May 2017, work on the study of the technical, economic and environmental aspects of the construction of a gold extraction plant in Kyrgyzstan will begin.
This issue was discussed at a videoconference with the participation of IBC and mining companies with representatives of the SGS international company, which provides services for independent expertise in the mining sector.
Earlier, the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyz Republic initiated the draft Law "On Amending the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the Customs Tariff of the Kyrgyz Republic". The bill provides for the introduction by the Kyrgyz Government of rates of export customs duties for the export of precious metal ores and concentrates, classified by HS code 2616, at least 25% of the customs value of the goods. This initiative, according to some experts, will force mining companies to pool their efforts to build a processing infrastructure.
The study initiated by IBC will analyze the feasibility of constructing such a plant in Kyrgyzstan.
The next videoconference with SGS will take place in May.
