EITI Supervisory Board considers its strategic recommendations
IBC, as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in the Kyrgyz Republic, took part in its regular meeting. The Board considered its recommendations to help Kyrgyzstan to make EITI more useful, in particular, to increase transparency in the management and spending of financial funds for regional development, including transparency of expenditures of social packages that subsoil users provide to the local population. IBC, as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in the Kyrgyz Republic, took part in its regular meeting. The Board considered its recommendations to help Kyrgyzstan to make EITI more useful, in particular, to increase transparency in the management and spending of financial funds for regional development, including transparency of expenditures of social packages that subsoil users provide to the local population. According to the Supervisory Board members, not all EITI recommendations can be implemented in the country due to the lack of an appropriate regulatory framework. Therefore, the EITI results in Kyrgyzstan should be evaluated taking into account objective factors.
