Financial police holds a roundtable with the business
“Representatives of the bona fide business are our friends and partners in the fight against threats to economic security in our country,” said Chairman of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (Financial Police), Bakir Tairov, at the roundtable “Dialogue with business and investors” on November 6, 2018.
The Financial Police is open to a constructive dialogue with the business and is not a punitive body, he stressed.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, leaders of the International Business Council and JIA Business Association, representatives of the business community, the State Tax Service, State Customs Service, Border Guard Service, and other state bodies.
The roundtable participants watched a video about the Financial Police achievements. Financial Police leaders listened to the problems and suggestions of the business community.
“We support the Financial Police in its fight against corruption and seek to cooperate with it. But we are against any kind of violation of the law,” IBC Executive Director Daniyar Mederov said. “It is correct that Financial Police requires compliance with the law from businesses, but we also expect government agencies to comply with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. Such a parity approach will help minimize the violation of the rights of business and the interests of the State,” he added.
“Our organization has a wide expert base. A whole Committee on fiscal policy works effectively in the IBC. You can involve our experts if necessary,” Mederov suggested to the Financial Police.
