Kyrgyzstan joins the Adventure Tourism Association

The Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic became a member of the Adventure Travel Trade Association.

As part of activities aimed at supporting and restoring the tourism sector from the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian countries, with the assistance of the USAID project on competitiveness, trade and job creation in Central Asia, the Tourism Department has joined the Adventure Travel Trade Association, reported the department's website.

As a part of the project, the profile ministries and departments for tourism of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan also joined the membership.

The membership is expected to revise and implement safety standards such as the World Travel & Tourism Council COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols and Adventure Travel COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines.

This approach is expected to enable Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to offer a safer experience for all tourists during and after the COVID-19 recovery period.
