The event was opened by Lithuanian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Gintautas Vasiulis.
During the forum, presentations of Lithuanian and domestic companies, as well as B2B negotiations took place. The Lithuanian side was represented by logistics, construction, IT companies, cable manufacturers, fish farming and feed production, pharmaceuticals, food and other sectors of the economy.
Members of the Lithuanian delegation interested in supplies of oil products, steel products, grain crops, fertilizers, cotton, fabrics and other products from Kyrgyzstan.
IBC Deputy Executive Director Zhanabil Davletbaev told the Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty Gvidas Kerushauskas about the main activities of IBC aimed at promoting and protecting business interests.
Zhanabil Davletbaev also held talks with the head of the Lithuanian business delegation, Sigitas Gailiunas, president of the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Vida Kazuro, deputy general director of the Klaipeda Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, and Lina Kavaliauskiene, coordinator of the Lithuanian delegation.
“We discussed issues of bilateral economic relations between the private sectors of our countries. IBC expressed its readiness to provide Lithuanian companies with the necessary information, as well as to assist in B2B negotiations,” said Davletbaev.
Expressing interest in the interaction between the markets of Kyrgyzstan and Lithuania, the participants of the meeting agreed to expand cooperation in all spheres of the economy.
Trade turnover between Lithuania and Kyrgyzstan reached 372 million euros in 2022. This result is particularly significant given the geographic distance and recent supply chain challenges.
