The Statistics Council discusses the development of official statistics in the country

The activities of the National Statistical Committee and the development of official statistics in the short term were discussed by members of the Statistics Council, established by the Presidential Decree in May 2022.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the National Statistical Committee Baktybek Kudaibergenov, representatives of the Presidential Administration and the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as members of the Statistics Council.

Council members discussed the implementation of the World Bank project on modernization of tax administration and the statistical system. According to the IBC head of the Askar Sydykov, it is necessary to increase the efficiency of the implementation of this project, which has been running for the third year already.

Council members also got acquainted with the results of the population and housing census in Kyrgyzstan. The IBC made a number of proposals on the issues discussed.

Business also proposed to improve the methods of explaining the data of the National Statistical Committee – to make them more accessible and understandable to the general population. For this, it is necessary to actively use modern information technologies, including infographics.
