On behalf of the business community, IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov suggested international donors to support Kyrgyzstan in carrying out reforms in the judicial system, as well as in key sectors of the country's economy including tourism, mining, and banking.

"It is difficult for us to expect the arrival of an investor who would immediately create enterprises here and invest in them. This is especially true for Western investors who are much more cautious," IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov said at the presentation of the UK Trade Mission.Therefore, it is necessary to build ties with entrepreneurs, starting with small steps.

This report was prepared at the request of German Development Cooperation (GIZ) as part of their Mineral Resources for Development program to support the development of local content in the Kyrgyz mining sector. The development of the legislation in the field of protection of personal information in the Kyrgyz Republic has started relatively recently. On April 14, 2008, the Kyrgyz Republic adopted Law No. 58 “On Personal Information” (hereinafter the “Law 2008”), aimed to strengthen the state policy in the field of personal data management, as well as to protect the rights and freedoms of people whose personal data are being collected, processed and used.
