Business Community Meets with the UK Ambassador-Designate to the Kyrgyz Republic

On 16 September 2026, the International Business Council (IBC), jointly with the British Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, hosted a business breakfast with Vicente Solera Deuchar, the UK Ambassador-Designate to the Kyrgyz Republic, and representatives of the business community.

The event brought together representatives of the mining, tourism, financial and manufacturing sectors, consulting and information technology industries, as well as international organisations.The meeting focused on prospects for further developing trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United Kingdom.

Vicente Solera Deuchar noted that one of his priorities in Kyrgyzstan would be to facilitate an increase in bilateral trade, attract British investment and expand business ties between the two countries.

During the meeting, participants discussed Kyrgyzstan's investment potential and opportunities for implementing joint projects in the mining, financial and tourism sectors, as well as prospects for developing the capital market and financing infrastructure and socially significant projects.

Particular attention was paid to the financing instruments offered by UK Export Finance (UKEF), the UK's export credit agency, which could be used to attract financing, implement investment projects and develop cooperation with British companies in Kyrgyzstan.Participants also explored opportunities for cooperation in artificial intelligence, information technology and creative industries, as well as the role of the Kyrgyz-British Business Council in strengthening direct contacts between entrepreneurs from the two countries.

Representatives of the business community shared their views on the development of bilateral economic relations, highlighted current business challenges and identified promising areas for attracting investment.At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in continuing dialogue, expanding business ties and developing practical cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United Kingdom.
