On June 21, the Parliamentary Committee on Economic and Fiscal Policy chaired by MP Nurlanbek Makeyev considered the appeal of CJSC "Manas Management Company" (MMC) as to whether the company's activity falls under the regulation of the Law "On public procurements."

Committee Member Gulshat Asylbaeva clarified that the MMC is a private joint stock company which does not use funds from the national and local budgets, non-budget funds or funds of joint stock companies in which the state or municipal share is more than 50%, as well as funds and other economic entities created at the expense of the state.

According to the MPs, the Company does not meet the concept of "procuring entity" and does not use public funds defined by the Law "On public procurements." Thus, JSC "Manas Management Company" does not fall under the regulation of the Law.

Manas Management Company is the owner of Air Cargo Center and the Flight Catering Center at the Manas International Airport.
