Strengthening Business Intermediary Organizations (BIOs) for Sustainable Economic Development in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia (2010)

This project was approved by EC and IBC will start implementation of the project in the beginning of 2011. Duration of the project is 2 years. The main European project counterpart of the IBC is the European Center for Eco and Agro Tourism (ECEAT) with headquarters in Amsterdam. The local project partners are the Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators (KATO) and the Kyrgyz Community Based Tourism Association (KCBTA). The main objective of the project is enhanced economic development of the tourism sector in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia and specifically:

strengthened and sustained capacity of Tourism BIO’s to promote their members’ interests and engage national and international tourism service providers; and,

enhanced linkages between Kyrgyz, Central Asian and European tourism associations and tour operators.

The project was implemented in 2010 with support of the European Commission.
