"For the first time, a VIAC delegation visited Kyrgyzstan, which demonstrates the growing role of Central Asia and Kyrgyzstan in the world and the sustainable development of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, in particular arbitration courts. The more business activity in the region and our country, the higher the need to use such alternative dispute resolution mechanisms," said IBC head Askar Sydykov.
Representatives of the business community, the Center for Judicial Representation under the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the professional legal community discussed the advantages of arbitration in international practice, its role in forming business strategies and increasing the competitiveness of companies.
Particular attention was paid to the prospects for the development of arbitration in Central Asia, including legislative reform, institutional changes and current challenges in Kyrgyzstan. During the final session, participants exchanged views with leading experts in the field of arbitration and law.
“We hope that in cooperation with foreign partners, such as the Vienna International Arbitration Centre, we can develop local arbitration products,” said IBC head.
Summing up the meeting, he emphasized the importance of arbitration in strengthening trust between business partners and improving the investment climate.
