On August 16, a meeting of the working group was held at the Economy Ministry with the participation of the business community and authorities to establish the business ombudsman institution in the Kyrgyz Republic.

At a government meeting earlier this month, Prime Minister Muhammedkaly Abylgaziev spoke about the need to create such a body to protect the rights of entrepreneurs and investors.

The Working Group finalized the draft provision on the business ombudsman and defined its powers and functions. "We have included the right of the business ombudsman to receive information from government bodies as soon as possible (within five working days), as well as the right to participate in government meetings. In the future, when a law on the business ombudsman is developed, we will add the right to participate in court sessions. It is also necessary to receive information from the JSC with the state share and state enterprises," said IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov, a WG member.
