ILO starts a new project in Kyrgyzstan to assist in the revision of labor legislation

The International Labor Organization (ILO) is launching a new 2-year project in the Kyrgyz Republic to assist the country in revising its labor legislation (2019-2020).

This was reported by the project coordinator Amina Kurbanova on February 6 at the second meeting of the country’s tripartite consultation within the framework of the General Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan and the Employers' Unions of Kyrgyzstan.

The ILO National Coordinator Bolotbek Orokov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. During 2019, the ILO plans to hold events at the global, regional and national levels related to the 100th anniversary of the organization.

Amina Kurbanova provided a brief overview of the International Labor Organization's activities in Kyrgyzstan on changing labor laws.

The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries, departments, trade unions and employers' organizations, business associations, including IBC, and members of the Republican Tripartite Commission.

The participants identified key priorities for reforming labor legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the short, medium and long term periods.
