On June 6, 2019, members of the working group on improving labor legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed proposals for the procedure for granting temporary disability benefits and benefits for pregnancy and childbirth.

With the introduction of a new disability payment order for people working in high mountains and remote areas, the financial burden of companies in the form of guaranteed payments for temporary disability benefits will increase significantly.

According to the meeting participant, this contradicts the principle of the balance of the rights and interests of the employees and the employers and is not fair to the employers. The WG members came to the conclusion that both participants in labor relations should be responsible for the implementation of their rights and obligations.

It was decided to study the proposals of the WG members and the legislation of neighboring countries in this area.
