On September 11, 2019, a Working Group under the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed a draft law on amendments to the Tax Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The changes include an increase in the income tax for mining companies by 3% in the case of the sale of gold-bearing ores and concentrates.

The interested government bodies (the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Tax Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the State Customs Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic), as well as the NABA head approved the bill and signed a regulatory impact analysis (RIA).

The business community, in particular, the International Business Council, Vertex Gold Company LLC, the Kyrgyz Mountain Association and KAZ Minerals Bozymchak LLC asked for additional time to submit proposals for the bill.
