On October 4, the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the participation of business associations, discussed issues of labeling goods with identification tools and developing an agreed position on the proposals of the Russian side.

In accordance with the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council of August 8, 2019 No. 72 “On the introduction of marking of shoe products by means of identification”, the EAEU member states independently determine the date of introduction and the procedure for marking shoe products in their territory. At the same time, a ban on the circulation of unmarked shoe products cannot be introduced earlier than March 1, 2020.

In accordance with the Agreement on the labeling of goods by means of identification in the EAEU countries, the Russian side made proposals to the EEC on mandatory labeling of certain items of light and textile industry products, tires, cameras, perfumes and toilet water.

According to Daniyar Mederov, Deputy Executive Director of the International Business Council, the meeting participants discussed proposals in terms of methodology and implementation timelines, as well as technical issues. The business associations and Economy Ministry decided to actively cooperate so that the labeling of goods is applied, but as painlessly as possible for businesses.
