IBC Open Meeting “Implementation of Open Sky Policy in Kyrgyzstan”, 16 July 2014

July 9, 2014

International Business Council in cooperation with GIZ (German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation) is pleased to invite you to the next IBC Open Meeting titled “Implementation of Open Sky Policy in Kyrgyzstan”.

The Open Meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 5:00 pm, in “Shayir” Hall of Hyatt Regency Bishkek Hotel. Registration will start at 4:30 pm.

While the Kyrgyz Government is planning to implement open skies policy in the nearest future, the aviation legislation is currently not in coherence with the definition of "open skies". Hence, the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic initiated development of an appropriate law.

Why has the law not been approved? What are the roadblocks? What measures need to be taken to not only increase turnover, number of routes and designations and improve the quality of services but also to save domestic commercial aviation?

Representatives of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, international donor organizations, business community and civil society and experts will attend the meeting. Opinions of both the proponents and opponents of the open skies policy will be heard, which will provide for a better understanding of the matter at hand. The event will provide for an opportunity to propose recommendations and comments on the issues of civil aviation development in Kyrgyzstan.

For your convenience, we strongly recommend you to confirm your participation by July 14, 2014 via phone: 62 33 94, 62 36 79 or email: ibc.kyrgyzstan@gmail.com.
