Representatives of the International Business Council and the Berlin Economics consulting company discussed on May 24, 2023 the state of the economy of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the impact of global events on its development.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate Protection, Berlin Economics advises the governments of countries with economies in transition on various aspects of economic policy. Expert groups analyze the sectors of the economy to improve the efficiency of existing development models or create new ones.

The experts were interested in what areas of the economy local businesses noticed changes. The meeting participants exchanged views on a significant increase in profits in the banks of the Kyrgyz Republic, explaining this, among other reasons, by the relocation of specialists from Russia. The issues of import and export in Kyrgyzstan were considered.

The meeting participants also discussed how the tax system in Kyrgyzstan has changed due to the adoption of the new Tax Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
