At a meeting at AUCA on October 3, 2023, IBC head Askar Sydykov, along with other graduates of this university, shared his experience of participating in the Leadership Academy for Development in Central Asia (LAD) program.

In August of this year, Askar Sydykov took part in a course of this regional program, held in Almaty and organized by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) together with the Center for Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law at Stanford University. This course was designed to equip private and public-sector reform leaders in Central Asia to be a constructive force for inclusive, economic growth and development through market reforms and public-private dialogue.

In Central Asia, CIPE works with business organizations, civil society, and think tanks to foster cultures of integrity in the business community, facilitate grassroots public-private dialogue on regulatory reform, and advocate for policies that increase economic opportunity, trade, and investment.

Course participants took part in a series of case studies led by an experienced team of international scholars and local experts who addressed issues relevant to Central Asia. Through the feedback, they interacted with alumni from other LAD programs and learned how they were using their skills to facilitate policy dialogue between governments and the private sector.

Lectures were given by famous scientists such as Stanford University Dr. Francis Fukuyama, researchers in the field of economic and government reforms, and civil society development Erik Jensen, Mary Hilderbrand.

According to course participants, the program stimulates the process of solving real problems through dialogue between business, government, civil society and researchers.
