IBC proposes to introduce a mechanism of investment citizenship in the Kyrgyz Republic

The meeting of the Business Development and Entrepreneurship Council under the Parliament Speaker considered the Economy Ministry’s report on the implementation of the Regulatory Reform Council’s decisions and problems of the FEZ entities.

IBC Executive Director Askar Sydykov spoke on the possibility of implementing the mechanism of investment citizenship in the Kyrgyz Republic. Using this mechanism, foreign citizens can obtain citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic if they investment in the country’s economy. In international practice, a citizenship-for-investment program is the fastest and procedurally easiest way to obtain citizenship and attract investments.

MPs, heads of relevant ministries and agencies, as well as representatives of business associations and international organizations attended the meeting. Speaker Dastanbek Jumabekov suggested adopting recommendations on to the issues addressed.
