IBC to discuss pressing problems in the leading sectors of the economy

The International Business Council (IBC) will hold a roundtable on the topic: "Business challenges in the leading sectors of the economy and ways to solve them”.

However, the business is concerned about circumstances that adversely affect the investment attractiveness of the country. For instance, foreign direct investment in the mining sector declined by 80.4 percent in 2015 compared to 2014.

According to preliminary data of the National Statistics Committee, GDP in the first half of 2016 decreased by 2.3 percent compared to the same period last year, industrial production - by 19.5 percent. Kyrgyzstan’s export fell by 29.3 percent and import by 8.2 percent.

In this context, taking into account the appeal of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev to create a "paradise for business" in the country, IBC will conducts a roundtable to discuss the problems of enterprises in priority sectors of the economy and ways to solve them.

The meeting will discuss the most pressing problems and their solutions in the priority sectors of the economy such as telecommunications, financial sector and subsoil.

As a result of the discussions, the roundtable participants will develop recommendations to help improve the business environment in the country.
