MRC supports the Young Geologist movement and discusses draft laws on subsoil use

At the IBC Mineral Resources Committee meeting on January 24, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ulan Ryskulov, told MRC about the Jash Geologist (young geologist) youth movement.

The committee decided to support the initiative to attract the younger generation interested in geology.

Participants of the meeting also discussed draft laws in the sphere of subsoil use including: a Government draft Resolution on introduction of 30% custom duty on the export of concentrates and ores containing precious metals; a bill to amend the rate of environmental pollution; a bill on amendments to the Land Code of the Kyrgyz Republic to abolish transformation of land for subsoil use; and a bill on amendments to the Government Resolution on agricultural production losses.
