Representatives of state authorities and the business community, including IBC, participated in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Pankratov to discuss the situation with the draft Tax Code.

According to Pankratov, the Economy Ministry will coordinate its further actions on this issue with the business community.

IBC Deputy Executive Director Daniyar Mederov called for constructive cooperation in improving the document. IBC has developed the first package of comments and suggestions to the draft Tax Code and submitted it to the Economy Ministry. The second package of IBC comments and suggestions will be completed soon.

It is vital to constantly provide feedback when working on this extremely important document, IBC believes.

"We must work actively not only within the working group on Regulatory Impact Analysis, but also on comments and suggestions to the bill from the business community. Business has to know that its suggestions and comments are being considered, and the response should be scientifically justified in case of rejection of the business proposals," said Mederov.

The polarity of opinions in the discussion will help more carefully finalize the draft Tax Code. "However, we are against confrontation with the state authorities in the drafting of the document. All that we require is to take into account our opinion. Finally, all of us including state agencies and businesses will have to work according to this document in the future”, the IBC representative concluded.
